Biscuit tufting is the square-grid back you know from classic American steakhouses and diners. The Bowery does it without buttons, and that is the point: a buttonless grid has no holes for grease and crumbs to collect in, and no buttons to pull loose and go missing.
The back is laid out in an even grid of squares, stitched through to a firm backing so each square holds its shape. In caramel leather or leather-look vinyl it reads warm and traditional; in a deep green or oxblood it turns clubby.
Construction. Rigid seat box, reinforced back frame, tufted panel built on a firm foam backing, seat cushion in high-resilience foam. The plinth is recessed for toe space.
Care. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and a mild detergent; with leather, follow the hide supplier's conditioning schedule.
Options. Grid size, back height, upholstery (leather, vinyl or COM), welt color, plinth finish, single, double or wall run.
