Low island booths keep a room open and turn tables fast. The Carroll does the opposite on purpose. At 54 in (137 cm) high, the shared back rises above the heads of seated guests on both sides, so each table feels like a private compartment. It is the booth for rooms that sell lingering, longer dinners and higher checks.
The shared spine is 8 in (20 cm) thick. A 4 in (10 cm) light oak cap runs along the top and is shared by both faces, with a brass band underneath that wraps the whole unit.
Construction. Double seat box with a structural central spine, reinforced frames on both faces, floor-fixing brackets concealed in the base. Because the unit is tall and freestanding, it must be fixed to the floor; fixing points are shown on the drawing.
Options. Height, length, cap timber and finish, upholstery on each face (the two faces can differ), trim finish.
